Walnut Cottage is a charming and distinctive home, dating back to 1734, located just a short distance from the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea. It is only 50 meters from the tree-lined town green, “The Buttlands,” which offers free parking, and within easy walking distance of the wide range of shops along “Staithe Street.” During busy periods, I am happy to offer free off-road parking. The cottage is a 5-minute walk from the picturesque harbour and just a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive to the stunning sandy beach.
The master bedroom features a King-sized four-poster bed, while the bathroom includes a magnificent central roll-top bath and a spacious walk-in shower. The second bedroom, located on the top floor, offers two single beds. Nestled in a quiet area, the cottage offers comfortable, luxurious bedding to ensure a peaceful night’s rest. The exposed oak beams and wood-burning stove highlight its historic character, while modern amenities such as fast broadband, smart TVs, and Netflix provide a contemporary touch.
The traditional Norfolk winder stairs are safe but may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. The private, walled garden is beautifully landscaped, attracting nesting birds each year, creating a tranquil space to relax. Walnut Cottage has been a highly sought-after holiday retreat for over 25 years, with many guests returning multiple times, some now visiting with the next generation.
