With its wooden walls and mud pens, this is the closest you can get to a typical “Himachali” house in Shimla. The house is part of Meena Bagh Homes, newly opened Himachali houses, committed to eco-friendly practices. You get all the space to yourself. A Spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and four bedrooms with attached bathrooms. (All bathrooms are heating facilities for winter). Three rooms (2, 3 and 4) are connected to the living room and kitchen. The fourth room (room #1) has a separate entrance.
During the entire stay, you will be attended by a caretaker, a cook and an order. The Meena Bagh is ideal for families, office colleagues or groups of friends who want their private space to rest, meetings, meetings or gatherings. The Meena Bagh homes is suitable for a group of 8 people or more. (The price quoted here is for all four rooms).
Design and Architecture: Some of the architectural elements are taken from Himachal and fused with the European chalets of the countryside. However, the overall effect is that of a cosy Himachali country house. The wood and mud-clad walls differ from Himachali architecture and minimize energy use on the road. All the four rooms have wooden flooring
Harvest / Recycling: Water self-sufficiency: Eco-resorts recommend low-flow showers and bucket baths. Shimla, especially, is plagued by chronic water shortages. But at Meena Bagh, we harvest and recycle water. With double recycling in place, water is rarely an issue.
Insulation: stays warm with minimal energy consumption: The outer walls and ceilings of the rooms are insulated. It provides both weather and sound insulation. Also, the walls have wood panelling which adds to the insulation.
Waste Wood Furniture: The furnishings, from the beds to the lampshades, were designed in-house from “waste” wood. The discarded wood that we collected from the lumber mills. We use this wood to create almost everything you see in the house.
