A spacious entrance veranda, complete with the enchanting Narnia wardrobe, opens into a warm and inviting living area. This space features a stunning solid elm floor, comfortable armchairs and sofa, and a cozy open fireplace. Just off the living room, through a lovely elm door, you’ll find a practical cloakroom with an airing space, washing machine, and downstairs WC.
The dining area, framed by picturesque views of the surrounding fields and valley, includes a large solid elm refectory table that comfortably seats up to eight. Adjacent lies the oak-framed kitchen, fitted with granite worktops, stainless steel accents, and all the modern appliances you could need.
An elegant solid ash open-tread staircase with oak paneling leads to the two ensuite bedrooms. The front bedroom, overlooking the courtyard, features a luxurious shower room with an exposed stone wall, Venetian marble tiles, oak paneling, and a state-of-the-art electronic power shower.
The rear bedroom offers serene views across the pond and valley. Its ensuite bathroom, accessible through frosted glass panelled doors, showcases Venetian marble tiling and a deep, oak-panelled bath—perfect for unwinding.
Both bedrooms are furnished with solid oak floors, generous storage, and handcrafted hardwood beds that can be arranged as either two singles or a super king-size double. With top-quality firm mattresses and fine Egyptian cotton linens, a restful night is guaranteed.

Please note that there's an internal doorway between Chestnut and Cobnut cottages which can be opened for easier access if needed; this combined setup is listed as "Aslan" on our cottage page. Cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival are eligible for a full refund, while those within 14 days are subject to the owner's discretion. Check-in is from 4:00 PM, and guests are encouraged to share their estimated arrival time to ensure a warm welcome. Check-out is by 10:00 AM, with late check-out available for £20 per hour upon 24 hours’ prior notice. The courtyard and top garden are quiet zones, and we kindly ask all guests to respect the peaceful atmosphere for everyone’s comfort. |
